This training manual provides detailed guidance on conceptualizing and planning conservation projects and programs. It is based on the Adaptive Management principles and practices in the Conservation Measure Partnership’s Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation. Materials in this manual have been adapted from previous works produced by Foundations of Success and members of the Conservation Measures Partnership.

FOS strongly recommends that project teams new to the Conservation Standards and the tools presented in this manual secure the guidance of a trained facilitator to apply the Conservation Standards to their projects.
