Standing with the Black Community

Black lives matter. The murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and too many others starkly reminds us of the need to be intentional about confronting racism in whatever work we do. We have a lot to learn and are committed to improving how we work towards our mission of fostering conservation and advancing human well-being given the realities of systemic inequity, injustice, and violence against people of color.

Our commitment:
  • Improve our organizational understanding and dialogue regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion within our team
  • Support the development and implementation of guidelines on equity and inclusion within the Conservation Standards in partnership with the Conservation Measures Partnership
  • Engage with organizations working at the intersection of conservation and the empowerment of marginalized communities to hear from them how we can help to amplify their impact
  • Donate our time and resources to different organizations working at this intersection
