Paola joined the FOS team in 2019. She enjoys exploring natural areas and has focused her work on protected areas planning and management, protected area systems, and other effective area-based conservation measures. While new to FOS, Paola has worked on joint projects with FOS for many years. From the beginning of her career, Paola has been passionate about addressing the challenges of achieving conservation effectiveness. She has experience in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating conservation projects with an adaptive management approach. She has accompanied projects from planning, through implementation, including working on management systems and business processes to strengthen conservation effectiveness. She is a strong process facilitator, adept at promoting participation among many stakeholders. Paola is based in Montevideo, Uruguay and has experience in Latin America, South East Asia and South Africa.

Interests: processes of change, governance, participatory management, environmental interpretation,  ecotourism as a conservation and sustainable development strategy, and other biodiversity businesses, roaming in nature, climbing, diving, camping
