Coming in Fall 2008! FOS and University of Maryland Launch Course in Adaptive Management

Beginning in September 2008, FOS and the University of Maryland will offer a course in adaptive management for conservation practitioners in the Washington, DC area.

The course is based on the Conservation Measures Partnership’s Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation, which provide a framework for planning, monitoring, learning from, and adapting conservation projects. Using a combination of theory and practical tools - including Miradi Software - this course will offer hands-on experience in applying the Open Standards to real-world projects.

To learn more about this exciting new course and to find out how to register, see the full course description and course schedule. Register by September 1st to ensure your spot!

Coming in January 2009! OTS and FOS to Offer an Adaptive Management Course in Costa Rica

In January 2009, FOS will collaborate with Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) to lead a 10-day course designed for graduate-level students whose career trajectory is professional conservation practice. The course focuses on the core skills of adaptive management that are increasingly required by conservation organizations worldwide as a foundation of practice.

Like our UMD course, this course will be based on the CMP Open Standards and will use Miradi software among other tools to introduce students to the process of adaptive management. For more details about the course and how to register, see the full course description. Applications will be accepted starting July 28th!

Foundations of Success (FOS) is a not-for-profit organization committed to working with practitioners to learn how to do conservation better through the process of adaptive management.
