Xavi joined FOS Europe in January 2021 after more than 10 years of collaboration with FOS in several projects. He has long experience in building the capacity of teams working in nature management and conservation, both as a team member and as an external collaborator. He worked for 14 years as a site manager for Fundació Catalunya la Pedrera caring for Mediterranean mountains, coastal lagoons, and freshwater habitats. During that period, he gained experience in hands-on planning and implementation of management measures, biodiversity status assessment, recreation, forestry, ecotourism, rural business development, land-stewardship, team management, and EU-funded projects.

In the FOS Collective, Xavi supports teams across Europe and Africa to build their capacity in Adaptive Management and to improve their planning and monitoring systems. He lives in Barcelona with his family where he enjoys hiking, spotting fauna and climbing in the beautiful mountains nearby. In his free time, he co-founded the European branch of Conservation Coaches Network Europe (CCNet Europe) and also led it for a few years.
